Pleasant Day cannot operate without you.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care relies heavily on donations and grants provided by the community. Your donations provide supplies, presents and funding for holiday activities, trips, and even days of attendance for United States Veterans. Our programs make it easy for you to help, and your donations are completely tax deductible.

SCHEDULED FUNDRAISERS

For the 2024 holiday season, Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care held a massive Holiday Tricky Tray to raise money for Pleasant Day participants. These funds went directly towards holiday activities, specials, individualized presents, and hearty home-cooked meals prepared by Tolley’s Catering. Thank you to all sponsors, volunteers and members of the community that came out to support our event! You gave all of our participants happier, brighter holidays.

Since 2000, Pleasant Day has held the annual Festival of Wreaths – a four week fundraiser celebrating the talents of local wreath makers. Over 70+ wreaths adorn the halls of Pleasant Day for a silent auction that culminates in the Holiday Benefit Gala held the first Thursday of December. At the Gala, enjoy food and drink while casting your vote for the People’s Choice Award. Local artists play music and sing for guests until the live auction officiated by Buddy Foxwell begins. Bid on items donated by businesses around the area, all to benefit Pleasant Day participants to give them a brighter, better holiday. You can see past entries and current events at the Festival of Wreaths Facebook Page.

Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care contracts with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) to provide medical services to Veterans. Current regulations only pay for two days a week of attendance for Veterans through the VA. The One Vet One Day Program was founded to raise money for additional days for Pleasant Day Veterans. Hundreds of additional days of attendance has been raised for these participants since the program’s inception in 2016. These men and women have received valuable socialization, medical supervision, meals, and transportation while having attended Pleasant Day. With a donation of $75, you can give one vet an additional day of attendance. If you would like to donate to the OVOD Program, Click Here to be taken to the donation page.

A resident of Cambridge, MD, the late George Adams was an engineer, fine arts conservator, and photographer. His large-format prints of the marshlands around Dorchester County reveal his sensitivity to light, particularly the “grey days, soft lights and limited palettes” that he felt “often reveal more than vivid sunsets.” Prints were donated to Pleasant Day for the One Vet One Day program. These beautiful prints can be seen in a gallery room at Pleasant Day. If you would like to purchase a print, please stop by Pleasant Day between 8AM-4PM, Monday through Friday. The donation of $75 for each print gives a veteran one additional day of attendance.
