Frequently Asked Questions

What are the steps to enrolling my child?

Children will need to have their vaccinations up to date with paperwork.

What ages do you accept?

We accept children ages 2-5. We can also provide care for school-age children ages 5-15.

Do you offer before or after care?

Yes! We are able to accommodate this if needed.

Does my child need to be already potty trained?

No, this is not a requirement.

What is the staffing pattern?

We have Arlene Peters as our Child Care Director with several decades of experience. Our support staff is following her lead and ensuring the center stays a positive, nurturing environment. Erin Windsor, RN, is the Executive Director of Pleasant Day as a whole. Aid is on site for any nursing needs.

How are meals provided?

We have snacks available at the center. Meals are to be provided by family, including a water thermos for your child to use throughout the day. If there are certain snacks that your child prefers, feel free to pack those as well. We have a refrigerator and microwave available if needed.

How is child care paid for?

We accept child care scholarships or private pay. The rates are $225/wk for 2 year olds and $200/wk for 3-5 year olds.

How is your facility set up to ensure safety and security while my child is in attendance?

We have a new, commercially installed playground with safety ground covering. Our playground is enclosed with a privacy fence. Children are supervised at all times by staff who have been cleared by the state to work in child care services. We have a newly revised area with three rooms for care that have been separated from our Medical Adult Day Care program offered in the same facility. Cameras are installed throughout the center. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the center installed an air filtration system to kill and minimized germs in the air. We also have a wellness room, located away from the general child care areas to place sick children until they are picked up by their families. They will also be assessed by a registered nurse and monitored until pick up. All staff are CPR certified. If medications are needed, only properly trained staff will give them to your child. Doors are locked from the outside to ensure no one can enter the center unless authorized to do so. The child care area is disinfected daily. Linen from napping cots are washed daily.

How is the program run?

We offer a play-based curriculum. There are more than enough books and toys available for children to learn. Physical, emotional, social and mentally, children will learn through the different activity stations set up as well as crafts and sensory play. We offer nap time as well.

How do you communicate with families?

We utilize the Procare App. Once signed up for services, a link will be sent via email to sign up for the app. Within the app is the opportunity to send messages, look at pictures of your child throughout the day and see what activities were completed. You will be notified of bathroom habits and eating habits as well. You will be given direct phone numbers to utilize at any time. Monthly newsletters will be given out. Communication with staff will happen at every drop off and every pick up. You will be notified immediately by phone with any issues that may arise.

How do I enroll my child or request a tour of the facility?

We would love to show you around! Call or text Erin Windsor, RN-Executive Director at (443) 521-5459 to schedule a tour or inquire about enrollment.
